Craig Clan Crest Tartan Throw Blanket

The Craig tartan and clan crest printed across a lightweight throw — the one that lives on the back of the sofa and gets pulled over you on an ordinary evening. The motto sits at the centre: Vive Deo Et Vives, "Live for God and you shall have life."

Not every clan made its mark with the sword. The most famous Craig of all, Sir Thomas Craig of Riccarton, was a scholar — his Jus Feudale, written in the 16th century, remains a foundation text of Scottish land law to this day, and he stood at the coronation of James VI. A name with that much quiet substance suits a quiet evening in.

• 50×60 inches, 100% polyester
• Soft, lightweight and fade-resistant
• Printed one side, white reverse
• Hemmed edges, machine washable

An easy comfort to give a grandchild just starting to ask where the family came from.
